Abstract
what will come after my solitude is a short film generated through an array of AI-driven tools and personal footage and digital art in addition to licensed stock footage. The work translates a personal journal entry written in May 2024—a moment marked by emotional vulnerability and disorientation—into a synthetic, fragmented visual language.

The text, influenced by the poetics of Mario Benedetti and filtered through lived experience, serves as the emotional substrate of the film. Rather than illustrating the writing directly, the piece employs artificial imagery to create tension between the intimacy of the source material and the estrangement of its visual form. This contrast situates the film within an ongoing series, memories of longing for something that is not there and will never be, where intense affect is examined, destabilized, and questioned—rendered almost foreign through mediation and abstraction.
This iteration reimagines an earlier version produced in February 2025. A temporary score featuring Burial’s Comafields introduces an additional emotional register, amplifying the work’s oscillation between calm and unease, beauty and anxiety. Together, image and sound form a space where solitude is not resolved, but suspended—inviting the viewer to sit with the ambiguity of feeling something deeply without fully knowing what it is.
